Being tired of yourself has to come from within; everybody around you can be tired of you, but until you are tired of yourself, it won't matter.
Once you are ready to start making changes, you have to be willing to be completely honest with yourself in every situation. You have to make a commitment to growing yourself in all aspects of your life; success can't live in one part of your life and be exempt in others. When you can honestly assess yourself in all aspects of your life, you can start to accurately see your strengths and weaknesses and you can see where and how you need to grow.
When you start being completely honest with yourself, you have to completely eliminate excuses from your life. Instead of blaming others for mistakes when something goes wrong, always ask yourself, "What could I have done different?" That question will be a source of major growth.
Finally, you have to fully commit yourself to your growth and your dreams. When you do so, trust that God will be with you and will bless you on your journey. Once you commit, the world with start working with you to make your dreams possible - the money the connections and the opportunities will start coming to you in ways that you can't imagine. When you put your efforts into your gift, you are giving God something to bless.
More after the jump ...
The first step to making a change in your life is finally being tired of yourself. You have to come to a point where you are tired of not living up to your potential, tired of not be as successful as you can, tired of not getting the job, tired of not being the type of father/mother, husband/wife, professional, etc that you know that you can be. You have to get to a point where you are so tired of underachieving that you are willing to do what it takes to make that change.
People around you can see your potential and grow tired of you not reaching it, but until you are ready to make that personal decision for yourself, it won't make a difference.
After you have told yourself that "Enough is enough," you have to learn how to be completely honest with yourself and you have to learn how to stop making excuses for yourself. The first question you have to ask yourself when something goes wrong is, "What did I do wrong?" When you point the finger at someone else, you are relinquishing an opportunity to grow, change, and develop. When you open yourself up to being honest, you can just deal with whatever the truth is, and then you can start to learn from and grow from that truth.
You have to also understand that success doesn't live in one part of our lives and become exempt in another. If you expect success in one part of your life, you must expect success from all parts of your life and you must start to live that way.
Our beliefs about ourselves are learned, internalized thoughts that evolve into behaviors that take over how we operate in our day-to-day lives.
Also, you can't but a ceiling on your success or limit yourself because you are afraid to step up into your gifts because you're too busy comparing yourself to someone else. You can't compare yourself and your gifts to anyone else and their gifts because God made you and the way you do what you do exclusively for you. The world doesn't have time to interact with your representative - it needs the real, authentic you to show up and shine your light. There is a special place in this world for exactly what you bring. Don't let your fears, your age, your gender, your race, or your experience or lack thereof keep you from sitting at the 'big table.' When an opportunity comes up, seek it with everything you have. If it is your time, you will succeed, and if its not your turn, you will learn what it is that you need to do be successful in the future. You must use your energy to perfect your game, not someone else's.
Stop letting opportunities pass you up because you are comparing yourself to others or because you feel like you aren't ready or you aren't good enough. So often we let our own heads get in the way and limit our potential. Be aware of the talk going on in your head and make sure its positive and not negative. Don't let the demons in your head win. You have to constantly be putting positive affirmations in your head and speak positive things to and about yourself to offset the negative ideas floating around. You have everything in you that you need to be successful, and you are enough.
Starting now, start believing in yourself, your gifts, and your future. You have to put your name on the lease of your life and your dreams; you have to commit to making your dreams a reality. Once you commit, the world with start working with you to make your dreams possible - the money the connections and the opportunities will start coming to you in ways that you can't imagine. When you put your efforts into your gift, you are giving God something to bless.
