7.4 Flau'jae: How Bad Do You Want It?

“If somebody gotta get you up and make you go get it, you don’t want it bad enough.” - Flau’jae

Everyone has goals, but what are you willing to do to earn it?

LSU basketball star and rapper Flau’jae Johnson is both a successful rapper and star basketball player who helped lead LSU to a national championship.

In a short video she recorded between sprints, Flau’jae said, “If somebody gotta get you up and make you go get it, you don’t want it bad enough.”

Flaujae is a flashy athlete, but there’s nothing flashy about this mindset. It’s not about hype or motivation; it’s about drive and discipline. It’s about doing what it takes, even on the days you don’t feel like it.

Motivation is how you feel — it’s the spark, excitement, or inspiration that makes you want to do something.

Discipline is what you do — it’s the system—the habits, routines, and commitments you follow whether you feel like it or not. Discipline is doing what you know you need to do no matter how you feel.

Most people never close the gap between what they say they want and what they’re actually willing to do about it. But greatness lives in that gap.

The truth is, wanting something doesn’t make it yours — working for it does.

Whether it’s earning a starting spot, building confidence, becoming a better leader, or chasing your dream — there’s no shortcut.

There’s only the question: How bad do you want it — and what are you doing today to go get it?

Question of the Day: What’s one thing you say you want—and what’s one action you’ll take this week to go after it?
