3.12 Charles Swindoll: How You React
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” - Charles Swindoll One thing that you can count on in life is that stuff, good and bad, will always happen. Two things that will define you are how you prepare and how you respond. When you are prepared for the storms of life, you can respond to them quicker and more effectively. When you respond the right way, you can learn and grow from anything, but I see too many people respond negatively to adversity, and it sets them back further and further than it has to. Pastor Charles Swindoll once said, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” Again, good and bad, stuff will always happen; how will you act and respond? One of the values I try to live by is Lead and Respond with Positivity. I show up with positive energy and I respond with positive energy. I learned early in life that negative people put a ceiling on their own potential, and the more negative you are, the lower the ceiling. Negative people let every little thing affect them, slow them down, or stop them altogether. Their negativity can be so bad that they can’t or don’t want to see or find the good, so they can’t find a solution. Positive people, people who lead and respond with positivity, always search for and find a way to be productive. They can think or work their way through anything, getting smarter, stronger, and more resilient along the way. So decide today how you are going to react and respond to adversity. Question of the Day: When something difficult happens to you, how will you react and respond to it?
