5.5 Wayne Dyer: Go the Extra Mile
“Go the extra mile. It’s never crowded there.” - Wayne Dyer
Do you just do what you are asked, or do you go the extra mile?
Show up early. Stay late. Touch the line. Do more. Do extra.
If you have played sports long enough, you have probably heard these things more times than you can count. While you might get tired of hearing it, they are some of the keys to being successful.
Being great is simple but not easy. Doing extra is a simple concept to understand, but hard to execute. If doing extra was easy, everyone could do it.
Author and motivator Wayne Dyer once said, “Go the extra mile. It’s never crowded there.”
Most people are content with doing just enough to get by, so when you choose to go the extra mile, you can set yourself apart from the rest.
You maximize your potential and exceed expectations when you put in more time and effort than is necessary or required. Think of it as going beyond the finish line that everyone else stops at.
Exceptional results come from exceptional preparation, exceptional work ethic, and exceptional habits and effort.
Don’t just do what you are asked to do - go above and beyond. Catch and pass your competition by going the extra mile.
Question of the Day: What is one thing you can do to go the extra mile?
